Sara + Seth – A Desert Wedding

When I heard my friend Sara was getting hitched I was over the moon! Sara and her (now) huby Seth are such a great couple! I’m so happy and thankful when my close girl friends find themselves a good guy to call their husband’s. I wasn’t just excited to photograph her wedding, but also to fly out to New Mexico where the wedding was happening, and have a mini reunion of some of our closest friends! It was so amazing there! New Mexico has the best clouds I have ever seen. And the scenery… Breath taking. One of the cool things about their wedding is that it had a slight Tim Burton theme to it!

They were married at Seth’s parent’s house surrounded by their close friends and family. It was raining on and off but the sky opened up for their ceremony and the rest of the day stayed pretty clear. I was honored to be there and capture their wedding day for them. I <3 them mucho!

Joe + Marissa

While I was out photographing a friends wedding in NM, my friend Sara (the bride) ask me if I would take her brother Joe and his then fiance aside (they’re now married) and take a couple pictures of them. I gladly said yes because they are such a cute couple and Marissa is absolutely gorgeous! I was trying to find reasons to photograph her at the wedding without being too in her face so I was so happy Sara asked me to pull them aside for bit. I think we were maybe out there for 15 to 20 minutes. This is what we got.

A Girl and Her Horse…A Country Wedding.

When my sis-in-law called and asked if I wanted to photograph a friend’s wedding with her I said yes right off the bat! What got me? Amy (the SIL): “She has her horse that she also wanted some pictures with at the wedding…”. As a photographer, if you hear “bride” and “horse” , you get your butt over there to photograph it! and I’m so glad I did! It was such a cool day and Paula and Chris were a great couple to work with. Here are my fav shots I took from the day.

See what I mean?! Beautiful family ranch, beautiful bride, awesome and fun people! You couldn’t of gone wrong. =D

P.S. My SIL over at  Amy Snow Photography has a real knack for photographing families, and is usually the one who works with me second shooting at the weddings I photograph (just in case you’re wondering who my second shooter usually is). I’ve phased out of photographing families so if you’re looking for an awesome photographer to do a Family Session with I recommend her for sure!  I photograph weddings, shes photographs families. We are kind of a power duo! =D

Paul + Shana – The Engagment Session

I hate calling the couples I photograph clients. It’s a great word and all and I use it, but I don’t feel like it covers the relationship I develop with these couples. Why? After Paul and Shana’s engagement shoot I was trying to pin point just what gave me so much joy and made me totally heart happy when I was so dead tired from running around. I always feel a mix of drained and exhausted while being energized and totally excited to see the images we made together after every shoot. The answer? It dawned on me that its because I can’t help but love these people after seeing them the way I do and getting to know them. I think it takes a certain amount of trust from my couples to allow me to see and photograph the intimate moment between them. They trust me enough to show that part of themselves and their relationship to me. Even if they’re not sure what I’m going for, they trust me. I get to know them as people, and who they are as a couple and individually, and chit chat for a couple hours (at least). I have had a chance to connect with everyone of the couples I have photographed. It makes me love what I do even more. That’s why for me “Client” just doesn’t seem to cut it.

Paul and Shana are no exception. I photographed their engagement session as well as their wedding, and the only way I can put them into words is that you wont find a funnier, kinder, more welcoming couple then these two. I had such a great time working with them on everything. And they are so perfect for each other. We also did a couple shots with their daughter (that’s for another post), and she is the most beautiful/cutest little girl ever! They are the cutest flippin family basically! I’ve loved getting to know them, and I’m so happy and blessed that they chose me to photograph these times in their lives.

Stay tuned for their mini family session, as well as their STUNNING wedding! It was seriously amazing!

Ian + Maggie – An Elopement

In July Ian and Maggie decided to fly out to California for a little vacay from back east, get their 4 kids together, and let fate decide where they landed for their elopement. Santa Cruz lined up and that’s how we met. Ian called me, I met with him and Maggie, and the next day I photographed their wedding.

The location was at a beautiful rental house that over looked the beach in Santa Cruz. Ian’s two girls, Maggie’s two boys, 2 other family members, and the pastor were all who attended. It was small, intimate, and full of love. So many hugs and tears of joy were shared as these two families became one. It was such a beautiful day, and I felt so blessed that I could be apart of it. I loved this ceremony so much because they incorporated all their kids into the ceremony as well. It was an amazing day to say the least.
