A Garden Wedding. Ginger + Allen.

In September I had the honor of watching one my closest friends get married to an awesome guy! I brought my camera along (of course) and snapped away! I do adore myself a beautiful wedding. They completely inspire me and warm my heart. Especially if it’s one of my besties gettin hitched! I also got to do her hair and make-up for the wedding and it was so fun and special for me to be able to spend the last couple quiet, yet nervous hours with her before she become a Mrs. She is one of my dearest friends and we have grown from teenage girls into married women who are quite grown up now. Our friendship falls to it’s normal rhythm no matter how long it’s been since we last talked. She is a life time friend and I’m grateful for her, and now I am also grateful for her new husband, Allen.

One of the coolest and funniest things (as you will see below) is that instead of a traditional wedding cake they had a cake of cheese! And my friend Ginger (the bride) makes wedding cakes and all types of awesome cakes for a living! She happens to have a deep love affair with cheese though (which I share with her. Don’t judge. =P ) so what better way to honor that love then making it the main attraction!? I don’t know, but Ginger is my hero.

It was so beautiful and I couldn’t be happier for them. Ginger and Allen are such a great couple and I am so happy to see my friend marry such a wonderful man.

Sunny Days and A Little Marsh….

The other week one of my best friends and her soon to be hubsters (or, aka, soon to be  Mr. And Mrs Marsh) came to town for a visit and to attend a mutual friend’s wedding. Not only is my bestie Sarah becoming a Mrs, but they recently found out that they have a lil bun in the oven too!! While they were here, we were determined to do a maternity shoot! Time was crunched though so we ended up doing a fly by the beach, 20 minute photo sesh before they were off to fly back home.

It was 2:00 in the afternoon and the sun was a bit harsh, but I swear! This girl can not take a bad picture! Lucky lady!

Here are a couple of my favs. Even with a 20 minute session we got about 50 good pictures. I was surprised! But as I mentioned before, it helps having a beautiful model to ace every shot! And Sarah was pretty too. LOL!

Next month I will be off to AZ to walk down the isle as a bridesmaid at their wedding and I’m so excited! Sarah and I met at youth group like 12(?) years ago. She was my first housemate and the perfect partner in crime! You know that awesome house you dream of moving into with your best friend when you’re a teenager? I had that! Well the house had rats, but I moved in with one of the most awesome people I have ever met, fresh out of my moms house, and it RULED! I will always remember those days, and cherish this girl and the friend she has been to me. It really is so special and amazing when you find people like my girl Sarah. She is as golden as they come!

A Touch of Sun.

Well here is my first picture post on my new photography blog! I figured I would start somewhere and where better then I Heart Faces!?

This is from a shoot I did a couple weeks ago with the coolest special needs girl and her family. They own a ranch which was like the jack pot of backgrounds! At least in my book. Also they are a homeschooling family which I love as I was home schooled growing up as well. I think our meeting was meant to be! =)

Anyway here is one of my fav pictures I snapped from the shoot. This little girl could not stay in one place for a second so it was really great to get some experience keeping up with someone and not always having the opportunity to ask them to stay in one position. I felt so blessed to have been able to shoot this family. They were truly great people.

Why Hello There….

And welcome to the Blue Lace Photography blog! I’ve been thinking about starting a photography blog for a while now. I even snabbed the e-mail address about 4 or 5 months ago so as to have all the cohesive elements to start this little blog. I knew it would be here at some point, and here she is. Yes, my blog is a she. At least to me. =)

Anyway, I hope to have somewhere to archive my work, as well as share any cool tips, tricks, and or other photographer’s work that I like too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy shutterbugging!
